Carmen Ellis believes that all children, educators, and families deserve high quality, joyful educational and child care settings. As training coordinator, she enjoys working with colleagues, early childhood providers, and trainers from across the county and around the world. Carmen has been in the early childhood education field since 1999 and has had the opportunity to study multicultural education in Copenhagen, Denmark and to teach in a dual language, English-Spanish school in Miami, Fla. She has a Master’s in Educational Leadership and Policy and a graduate certificate in Adult Development and Learning from Portland State University. Carmen is passionate about using her understanding of diverse childhood and education experiences to advocate for equitable education for all of Oregon’s children.
When not in the CCR&R office, Carmen can be found hiking, playing ultimate frisbee, or reading on her front porch. Carmen’s favorite children’s story to read aloud is Too Many Daves by Dr. Seuss.
