Job Description

We are a local play-based, certified family childcare facility is in need of a qualified infant/toddler teacher for our certified family childcare site. The position begins at 20-30 hours a week (with the possibility of more for subbing) and will increase to full-time shortly.

At our sites, we believe in nurturing children through play. Located in Northeast Portland, the home-like setting and child-centered program promote all facets of development in children ages 2 months to 6 years. Our curriculum is based on natural learning environments with a strong emphasis on child-led and hands-on projects. We spend a lot of time outside, playing with the children, and doing hands-on learning projects using nature.


Only applicants who have or are willing to obtain the following will be considered:

3 + STELLAR Professional references
Central Background Registry Number
Required Office of Childcare Trainings (First Aid/CPR, Food Handler’s Card, Child Abuse & Neglect, Introduction to Childcare Health & Safety, and Safe Sleep for Oregon’s Infants).

The desired candidate must be:
Knowledgeable in child development (or willingness to learn)
A minimum of 1-year verifiable childcare experience
Flexibility and good attitude
Willingness to learn and adapt to a child-based, play-based learning environment
Job Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

Interacting with and caring for young children, using developmentally-appropriate practices and language.
Creating open-ended art projects and provocations for children
Keeping children safe
Working as part of a team with other teachers
Interacting with parents in a professional and discreet manner
Preparing meals
Light housekeeping
20 hours of ECE training annually
