Basic Training Requirements for:

Starting a child care business

Providing Licensed or DHS subsidized Care

• Intro to Health and Safety
• Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect
• First Aid and CPR (Infant, Child and Adult)
• Food Handler Card

DHS Providers, not licensed by the state also need:

• DHS orientation – Please call CCRR at 503-491-6205
• 6 hours of approved training

Licensed Registered Family Child Care

• 10 hrs of ongoing approved training (6 hrs in child development)

Licensed Certified Family Child care

• 15 hrs of ongoing approved training (8 hrs in child development)

Licensed Child Care Center

• 15 hrs of ongoing approved training (8 hrs in child development)
